A Few Good Quotes

"There is something so settled and stodgy about turning a great romance into next of kin on an emergency room form, and something so soothing and special, too." ~ Anna Quindlen

"Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, 'I will try again tomorrow.'" ~Mary Anne Radmacher

Preparing for Baby #2

I have been nesting - man, the urge this time around came so much sooner than it did with Ruthie. All of a sudden, I can't stand the curtain in our front entrance and I can no longer live with the lack of family photos in our house.

But since the baby's room is ready, I have to channel my energy into Ruthie's new room, since she will be moving out of the nursery when our Noodle is born. However, we are still using that room as a guest room, since it is really to early to start moving Ruthie over. So, I am doing a lot of baking. And, I am working on a few small projects for Ruthie's new room. It is going to be pink and green, with Peter Rabbit touches, and I am very excited. We recently bought an old pink bookcase that is super cute and I have been collecting cool looking frames that I will paint green, to match the new-to-her crib Ruthie is getting from a bigger cousin. Those frames will form a collage on her wall, and also solve my "we have no family photos" issue. :)

Finally, I have begun work on Ruthie's new toy box. A friend of mine made a darling ABC one for the nursery and from that project we had two other big wooden boxes. As you can see below, I am painting one of those, with the hopes of putting pink and green shapes on it, without ruining it with my total lack of artistic abilities. I will be sure to keep you posted on the progress. In the meantime, there is some cinnamon swirl bread that just has to be made.
